Homemade Fabulous Face Masks

If you’re spending silly money on face masks, then STOP! It’s time you opened your kitchen cupboard and have a go at making your very own. You will be pleasantly surprised by the results and your purse will feel the benefit too.

So whether you need to tackle your spots, quench your skin’s thirst or want a glowing complexion, grab a bowl and spoon and try the below:

The Nourisher

  • 1/2 ripe avocado
  • 1/2 ripe banana
  • 1 teaspoon of plain organic yoghurt
  • 1 teaspoon of honey

Mash your avocado and banana until it’s a smooth paste, then add your yoghurt and honey. Mix together until it forms a paste. Apply to your face, leaving it for 10 minutes, before rinsing off with lukewarm water.

The Poor Reducer

  • 1 egg white
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice

Whisk your egg white until it becomes thick and fluffy, adding your lemon juice slowly as you whisk. Apply the mask with a makeup brush (a flat foundation brush works best). Leave the mask to dry completely – it should take around 5-10 minutes. Your skin will start to feel tight. Remove by rinsing with lukewarm water.

Exfoliator

  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of honey

Combine all of your ingredients in a bowl and mix together until you get a smooth, even consistency. Rub it all over your face in gentle circular motions. Remember to take your time and exfoliate softly so you don’t hurt your skin.

Soothing Aide

  • 2 tablespoon of ground rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon of plain organic yoghurt
  • 1 tablespoon of honey

Combine all of your ingredients in a bowl and mix together until you get a smooth, even paste. Apply all over your face and leave for 10 -15 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water, rubbing your face in circular motions and then pat dry with a towel.

Brightener

  • 3 tablespoons of ground rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice

Combine all of your ingredients in a bowl and mix together until you get a smooth, even consistency. Apply the mask to your face and leave on for 15 – 20 minutes before rinsing off with tepid water and a muslin cloth to get rid of any yellowing.

Spot Blaster

  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon of green tea powder

Combine all of your ingredients in a bowl and mix together until you get a smooth, even consistency. Rub the paste over your face in circular motions and then leave it on for 10 -15 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water and use a soft washcloth to promote exfoliation.
