The Christmas lights illuminated Manchester from Albert Square last night. The rain and cold weather didn’t put us Mancunians off! We were out in full force armed with umbrellas and big coats.
Due to the thousands of people squeezed in it was SO hard to get decent photos. But thanks to the big screen you could see what was going on the stage.
As every year, the show was a family friendly spectacular and free to watch. It lasted about an hour and included a amazing fireworks finale and of course live music performances!
Last year’s X Factor winner Louisa Johnson headline the show and sounded amazing live. Girl band M.O also performed, not a lot of people were familiar with them (I was! They have some great songs!) And soul singer JP Cooper also performed who didn’t seem that well known (I didn’t know this one!) but he had a incredible voice and features in the recent hit ‘Perfect Strangers’ with Jonas Blue!
Cold Feet and the Fast Show’s John Thomson was on stage too as well as the cast of Billy Elliot and The Dancehouse Academy.
The event was hosted by Key 103 Breakfast DJ Mike Toolan, Coronation Street’s Brooke Vincent and Paddy McGuinness!
All in all, it was a fantastic evening and it’s safe to say the Christmas season is hereeeeee!!! 49 days left to be precise.
